Year 7 Entry (11+)

In Year 7 we start a two-year tailored Common Entrance and Scholarship programme, preparing your son or daughter throughout Years 7 and 8 for transfer to top independent schools at 13+.

At Edge Grove we believe that Years 7 and 8 are where the prep school education really comes together. During these two years we prepare children for their senior school with our dynamic ‘Independent Curriculum’, taught in small classes, many set or streamed. We provide support to make up any knowledge shortfall in subjects such as French; and prepare the children for pre-tests and exams and interview practice.

They can experience a wide of range of extra-curricular activities and become leaders of the school, prefects or House Captains. All children are able to play in sports fixtures rather than just the best pupils being selected. They take part in our Summer Term major school musical, many being cast in lead roles. Exciting tours and trips are on offer for Years 7 and 8 pupils and they can also experience flexi or weekly boarding.

Excellent results are achieved each year and a large proportion of our pupils leave with scholarships to their future school. Click here to view our results.

Applying for entry into Year 7:

We do have spaces in Year 7 for this September and will arrange to meet and assess any children in Year 6 who are looking for a place in Year 7 in September 2017.

The 11+ Assessment will involve an assessment in the morning including VR and NVR testing, some creating writing and a short interview. For the remainder of the day the children will join lessons in Year 6.

If you would like to attend, you will need to register your child with Edge Grove by completing the attached registration form and returning it to me with the £100 registration fee. This can also be paid via bank transfer and the details are on the form. Please can you also complete the attached attendance form and return it to me via email or post..

We will need to review recent school reports from your child's current school and will also contact the school for their confidential feedback.

An offer of a place will be made following a review of the reports, his/her performance in the Assessment and overall during the Taster Day.

Please contact Admissions if you have any questions or require any further information about the process and availability.
