Mindfulness is incorporated throughout Edge Grove by our 14 experienced .b foundations practitioners and Paws.b teacher. Innovative activities are incorporated into many areas of school life, tailored to meet the age and ability of pupils throughout the school.

When children and young people learn to be more ‘present’ they often become more focused, more able to approach situations from a fresh perspective, use existing knowledge more effectively and to pay attention.

As mindfulness exercises increase awareness of what is going on in the mind and body, with tuition and practice pupils can develop skills that enable them to respond to thoughts and feelings in a more considered, measured manner, and thereby make better choices.

“Mindfulness is awareness that arises through paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgementally,”
