The Lower Prep at Edge Grove extends the Pre Prep foundation by challenging pupils academically, on the sports field or through the Creative Arts.

We continue to develop children as independent learners, giving individuals a balance of support, challenge and extension, beyond the National Curriculum. We challenge children to extend their knowledge and skills, to become ‘thinkers’ and problem solvers and learning is enriched through an array of off-site trips and visitors to the school. Building on the solid foundation of earlier years, pupils in Years 5 and 6 develop an eagerness to learn and a spirit of independence. Our aim is to produce confident well rounded individuals, whilst affording them the best possible education.

In Lower Prep each form has a dedicated form tutor who is responsible for registration and is the first point of call for pastoral care. An increasing number of specialist teachers will teach pupils in Years 3 and 4 and by the time pupils reach Year 5, all subjects are taught by specialist teachers.

During these years at Edge Grove, pupils are encouraged to undertake a broad spectrum of activities, and are given many opportunities for personal and social growth.
