The Edge Grove Baccalaureate is a bespoke two year course followed by all pupils in Years 7 and 8. It is unique to Edge Grove and is designed to equip pupils with the skills and attributes required to flourish at Senior school and life beyond. It is studied alongside the standard curriculum but aims to enhance those studies by encouraging pupils to adopt Edge Grove’s Guiding Principles throughout their learning to become accomplished, confident and resilient young people. Each pupil keeps a journal of their studies and reflects on their development through self-evaluation. Personal tutors will, of course, oversee individual’s progress. Pupils’ progress and achievement are recognised through a system of continuous assessment and at the end of the two years each pupil will gain the Edge Grove Baccalaureate Award with either a Pass, Merit or Distinction.
