ISI Inspection Report

The Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) is the body approved by the Department for Education (DfE) to inspect association independent schools in England.

In January 2026, Edge Grove was inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) under the framework introduced in September 2023. This new framework places a strong emphasis on pupil wellbeing, leadership effectiveness and the quality of education. During their visit, the team of inspectors met with Governors, members of the Senior Leadership Team, staff and pupils. They observed lessons across a range of subjects and year groups, attended assemblies, co-curricular activities and form time, and spent time speaking with children about their experiences of school life.

Inspectors conducted a thorough review of the school’s policies, safeguarding procedures, documentation, records and samples of pupils’ work. They also considered the views of parents, pupils and staff who responded to the pre-inspection survey, ensuring that the report reflected the perspectives of the whole school community.

All inspection standards were met:

  • Leadership, management and governance
  • Quality of education, training and recreation
  • Pupil’s physical and mental health and wellbeing
  • Pupil’s social and economic education and contribution to society
  • Safeguarding
