Pastoral Care

Pastoral Support in the Community

At Edge Grove we want all our families to feel supported, cared for and valued by the pastoral team at School, but we recognise there are times when you need support from the wider community.

We regularly work with the local Families First Practice Team who can provide support and guidance about Early Help support. Families First is the term used in Hertfordshire for services that work together to support families who need extra help and information to prevent issues from getting worse.

Issues they can help with:

  • Parenting
  • Mental and physical health problems
  • Drug or alcohol dependency
  • Domestic abuse
  • School related concerns, such as attendance
  • Debt problems

We also work with the local Emotional Mental Wellbeing in Education and Delivering Services Provision Locally (DSPL9) teams who, through a partnership approach with schools, local authorities and other agencies, provide support and services to their local community that:

  • Meet the needs of children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), aged 0 – 25, as close to home as possible;
  • Improves outcomes for wellbeing and attainment;
  • Supports parents through webinars and online courses;
  • Removes barriers to learning.

We regularly post their courses and programmes in the School newsletter and have provided some further information and links below.
