Welcome to Edge Grove Nursery
Edge Grove Nursery, for children from age 3 to 4, offers a warm, family atmosphere in a home from home environment within the Junior Department building. At our Nursery, staff enjoy caring for children and helping families to navigate the challenges of early parenthood.
We’re incredibly proud of the home-from-home nursery experience we offer; our families know their children will be safe and happy in the care of our kind and experienced staff.
The Nursery is a child-centred environment where each child has the opportunity to develop confidence, independence and curiosity about the world around them. It offers vibrant and stimulating learning zones, all inter-connected, allowing free-flow around the building.
The Nursery is staffed by a team of teachers and Learning Assistants. Lessons with specialist teachers include Modern Foreign Languages, Performing Arts, Forest School and PE.
Our talented and dedicated Nursery staff place the happiness, safety, health and emotional wellbeing of every child at the centre of all they do. They recognise the importance of these early years in the development of character and individuality and in building social skills. Other than in exceptional circumstances, Edge Grove Nursery children move onto Reception at Edge Grove without the need for formal 4+ assessment.

Our Nursery Environment
Our exciting Nursery curriculum is delivered in bright, airy classrooms and open spaces. Pupils are able to free-flow between inside and out, and there are always lots of activities for them to choose from within each area of the Nursery. Pupils also benefit from the 48 acre site and all it offers – wide open spaces give Edge Grove pupils space to roam and freedom to explore and learn.

The Nursery Day
Our Nursery School day starts at 8.45am but parents / carers are welcome to drop off their child at any time from 8.00am onwards; breakfast (at no extra charge) is available from 8.00am to 8.30am. Most children, particularly in the term before moving up to Reception stay for an afternoon session until 3.30pm. After-school provision is available to Nursery children every day until 6.00pm.
