The Art Department has worked hard on a very emotive installation project with all pupils for Remembrance Day.
Over the last six weeks pupils have been working on colour blending of red poppies and helping to create doves with heartfelt messages of peace, inspired by artists Peter Walker who is exhibiting in St Albans Cathedral. The messages of peace from pupils reflects not only on past wars but also on present.
The peace doves were given to all forms from Reception to year 8. The messages the pupils wrote shows their compassion and caring nature and are extremely heartfelt. We have produced an installation with over a thousand poppies and several hundred peace doves. This project truly shows the heart of the pride beating as one.
