Edge Grove offers a limited number of means-tested bursaries to support new pupils to the school where parental means would be insufficient to meet the fees in their entirety.
Bursaries, on a sliding scale, are awarded to pupils who we believe will gain most from an Edge Grove education, and who will contribute fully to the life of the school. Parents interested in applying for means-tested financial assistance are recommended to download and read the school’s Bursary Policy.
The provision of all financial assistance is at the sole discretion of the school and is subject to the means-testing rigour expected of independent schools by the Charity Commissioners. Both parents/guardians will be required to provide proof of their income and assets. The level of support varies according to a range of circumstances including assessed parental need and also to the level of funding available.
Entry to Pre-Prep:
Please note that financial assistance is only available for entry to the Pre-Prep in very exceptional circumstances, and the deadline for any such applications will be 31st March in the year of entry in September.
Entry to Years 3-8:
If you wish to apply for bursary funding for entry into Years 3-8, the Bursary Application Form should be fully completed and submitted directly to the Bursar together with all requested and applicable supplementary documentation by 31st March in the academic year prior to the year of admission. At the same time a Registration Form and fee should be submitted directly to the Admissions Mananger, if one has not already been submitted. Please note that we cannot consider Bursary applications for children for whom Registration Forms for a place at the school have not been received. You should also check with the Admissions Manager whether there are still places available in your child’s proposed year group prior to submitting a Registration Form.
Bursary applications will be considered on the basis of information provided and the analysis of this will include a home visit from the school’s appointed representatives. Following receipt of their report, recommendations will be made to the Governing Body and decisions will be communicated by letter from the Bursar at the same time that academic places are awarded; this is usually in the Spring Term prior to admission.
